Gazpacho is the owner of the market and a supporting protagonist for the series. His market is where Chowder and his master buy ingredients for the various recipes they need make in their kitchen. He is portrayed as a immature but well-meaning and friendly character who cares and respects his friends and often tries to help Chowder out, who he calls his "little buddy". He often gets into arguments with Mung because of their opinions on fruit and other produce. He often does his best to offer advice to Chowder when needed. He lives with his overbearing mother who never appears. Gazpacho shows no interest in moving out and improving his own life. Greenblatt named him after the cold soup Gazpacho. Greenblatt said that he did not know why the name suited the character, but that the name suited the character immediately.
